Fortinet Awarded Best Unified Threat Management Vendor by VARIndia

Channel partners and customers vote Fortinet winner over Cisco and SonicWall in annual VARIndia awards.

New Delhi, India, Nov. 14, 2006 - Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that it has been awarded "Best Unified Threat Management (UTM)" vendor by VAIndia at its annual Star Nite Awards, held in the Hotel Eros Intercontinental on Nov. 10, 2006.

The VAIndia Star Nite awards recognizes outstanding vendors in more than 50 product and service categories, including server and network hardware, database software, storage management, and security. Award nominees for the various categories were determined by feedback from customers and channel partners and studies made through VAIndia's print and online media in metropolitan areas and B- and C-class cities. The criteria used to determine the award winners included: market penetration, product performance, commitment to channel partners, and operational effectiveness, incorporating logistics, service support and responsiveness to customers.

The award recognizes Fortinet's FortiGate family of security systems, which deliver complete content protection in real-time, with the integration of essential security capabilities, such as antivirus, firewall, IPSec- and SSL-VPN, intrusion prevention (IPS), web filtering, traffic shaping and anti-spam. Fortinet's FortiGate systems are ICSA-certified eight times over, and are Common Criteria EAL-4+ compliant.

The VAIndia Star Nite Awards, which is now into its sixth year, was attended by over 600 people, comprising Indian government officials, foreign dignitaries from Great Britain, Taiwan, Korea and Singapore, C-level executives from major Value-Added esellers (VAs), System Integrators (SIs), and channel partners.
