Fortinet Expands Connectivity Options for Enterprise Branch Offices, Retail Outlets & Small Businesses with New 60-Series Security Appliances

ADSL Connectivity, Support for Wireless Protocol 802.11a and Modem Integration at the Heart of New Offerings

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 24, 2006- Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of multi-threat security solutions- today enhanced its FortiGate™ and FortiWiFi™ product lines with the addition of three new systems aimed at small and medium businesses (SMBs), enterprise remote offices, and retail outlets.

The new FortiGate-60ADSL, FortiWiFi-60A and FortiWiFi-60AM systems expand the choice of connectivity and deployment options for Fortinet's wired and wireless security devices through direct ADSL connectivity, integration of an internal modem, increased protocol support and/or an array of various other features.

FortiGate-60ADSL
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) has fast become an attractive Internet service option for small business and branch office environments due to its broad multimedia and high-speed communication capabilities. With the introduction of the FortiGate-60 ADSL multi-threat security appliance, businesses choosing ADSL service can now protect themselves with Fortinet's full suite of award-winning security functionality and connect to their ADSL service from a single security and ADSL routing platform. Easy to deploy and administrate, the FortiGate-60ADSL system features dual WAN link support for redundant Internet connections and an integrated 4-port switch, giving networked devices a direct connection to the system and eliminating the need for an external hub or switch. The FortiGate-60ADSL appliance supports multiple ADSL standards, including ANSI T1.413 issue 2, ITU G.dmt and ITU G.lite, as well as support for Annex A, and Annex B.

FortiWiFi-60A & FortiWiFi-60AM
Fortinet also today announced the FortiGateWiFi-60A and the FortiGateWiFi-60AM, designed to specifically address the secure wireless connectivity requirements of small businesses and enterprise branch offices. The FortiGateWiFi-60A and FortiGateWiFi-60AM ensure secure mobile connectivity by combining a wireless access point with a complete suite of network security functions, enabling wireless users to enjoy worry free, high-performance access without compromising the integrity of company networks.

The FortiWiFi-60A and FortiWiFi-60AM feature the broadest range of WLAN access, including 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g support, and allow administrators to apply antivirus, firewall, VPN, and intrusion detection and prevention services to both wireless and wired connections. Both products support multiple SSID's, enabling each to support up to four independent wireless access networks. These additional wireless networks enable a small business or branch office location to provide wireless connectivity for unencrypted access to guests and encrypted access to employees while keeping network access limited and secure. Advanced wireless security features of the FortiWiFi-60A and FortiWiFi-60AM include WEP, enforced IPSec VPN encryption for WLAN connections, and the support of the WPA2 wireless encryption protocol. Additionally, the products provide dual WAN link support for redundant Internet connections and integrated 4-port switches that eliminate the need for an external hub or switch, providing a wired connection for Point-of-Sales devices.

The FortiWiFi-60AM includes an integrated modem for critical back-up connectivity in the event that internet connectivity is ever lost -- thereby addressing the security requirements of retail businesses for trustworthy and always available electronic transactions over the Internet.Designed to fulfill the need of the large scale branch office deployments (1000+ locations), the FortiWiFi-60A and FortiWiFi-60AM also support a robust suite of routing protocols such as IPv1/v2, OSPF, BGP, and PIM-Sparse/Dense Mode. The FortiWiFi-60A includes two USB ports that offer support for connections to dial-up modems.

Like all Fortinet's FortiGate and FortiWiFi systems, the FortiGate-60ADSL, FortiWiFi-60A and FortiWiFi-60AM are ASIC-accelerated security appliances that deliver real-time network protection through the integration of a broad range of security functions -- including firewall, antivirus, IPSec and SSL virtual private networking (VPN), intrusion prevention (IPS), Web filtering, traffic shaping, anti-spam and antispyware. The systems are ICSA-certified for firewall, antivirus, IDS, IPSec VPN and SSL VPN, easy to manage, and provide cost-effective network-level and content-level protection at the network gateway and edge. Additionally, they are kept up to date automatically through Fortinet's FortiGuard™ Network, which delivers continuous and automatic signature 'push' updates that ensure protection against the latest viruses, worms, Trojans, spyware, intrusions and other threats around the clock, and around the world.

"Small businesses, retail stores and branch offices need easy to manage, reliable security and connectivity options to stay in touch with their customers and business needs," said Chris oeckl, Fortinet's vice president of marketing. "Our new FortiGate and FortiWiFi systems broaden the choice of connectivity options for customers in these markets and provide them with flexible, comprehensive protection against all types of threats."

As a small focused team working on a variety of high profile projects, our main priorities are the quality of our work and the service we provide. IT has never been top of the agenda; the construction industry as a whole continues to use traditional processes and still communicates via fax and post in many instances. However, as more of our partners are working electronically, our IT has become business critical, and the need to secure our IT assets was something we knew we had to address, but without our IT expenditure going through the roof.
