Fortinet Rounds Out Mid-Enterprise Segment with Multi-Threat Security Appliance for ROBO Environments

FortiGate-200B Continues Breakthrough Firewall/VPN/Price Performance of Mid-Enterprise Segment at Entry Level

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov.10, 2009 - Fortinet® - a market-leading network security provider and worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions -today announced a new FortiGate® multi-threat security appliance that rounds out its mid-enterprise family of products with an entry-level edition in the FortiGate-200B. Continuing the leadership performance of Fortinet's three other FortiGate appliances in the mid-enterprise family, the FortiGate-200B appliance offers high performance with 5 Gbps firewall and 2.5 Gbps IPSec VPN throughputs. The FortiGate-200B is an entry-level product within the mid-enterprise segment and is ideal for deployment in remote and branch office locations. Fortinet's new network security appliance also delivers high port density with 16 ports, all of which are accelerated with FortiASIC™ processors. The FortiGate-200B appliance is expected to be generally available in December and will ship with the newest version of Fortinet's operating system, FortiOS 4.0 M1.

The FortiGate-200B appliance makes hardware-acceleration and high port density, which enable wire-speed performance and network segmentation, affordable even for small organizations. In addition, accelerated security ensures that broad security protection does not affect application and network availability. The FortiGate-200B is joined by the -310B, -620B and recently announced -1240B products to form Fortinet's complete mid-enterprise product line.

"Our mid-enterprise product family is intended to deliver the best possible security performance and functionality at every price point, even at the entry-level segment supported by the FortiGate-200B," said Anthony James, vice president of products, Fortinet. "In the highly competitive mid-enterprise segment, we believe we have delivered four very competitive, high-value products to meet the diverse and demanding requirements of this customer segment."
