Fortinet's Consolidated Security Approach Reinforced as Enterprise- Ready, according to Leading Research Firm

Report also Highlighted the Companys Strong Penetration in Government, Telecommunications, Financial and Education Vertical Markets in the APAC Region

SINGAPOE, Jan 8, 2010 - Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) - a leading network security provider and worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions - today announced that IDC has reported Fortinet as a leading vendor in network security, offering an end-to-end security portfolio catering to service providers and enterprises of all sizes. The report also highlighted that the companys FortiGate® UTM product line meets the needs of enterprises requiring security products with strong technology, high performance, and lower total cost of ownership.

ÏThis dated perception that UTMs are only suitable for small- and medium-sized companies is being challenged by many organizations in the financial services, telecommunications, and infrastructure industries who have been successfully implementing UTM products designed for larger network topology, according to Judy Wu, research manager for IDC Asia Pacific security research. ÏIn fact, many telco companies in Asia Pacific have implemented Fortinets end-to-end security solutions and government offices have also deployed Fortinets enterprise-grade FortiGate UTM models to manage their complicated IT and network infrastructure.

IDC also reinforced that Fortinet is a technology-driven security vendor and indicated that the company is expected to build on the success of its UTM customer base to cross-sell products such as FortiMail™, FortiWeb™ and FortiDB™ across the Asia Pacific region. In particular, the report also highlighted FortiOS 4.0 and FortiCarrier™ solutions, as proof points to demonstrate Fortinets capability into the higher-end enterprise and service provider (SP) segments.

Patrice Perche, Fortinets vice president of International Sales and Support, commented: ÏFortinets innovative, integrated and cost-effective security approach has enabled many companies to weather the economic downturn without sacrificing their network security. As IDC points out, our value proposition is being recognized by organizations from all industries and all sizes - from SMBs, to carriers to large enterprises. In 2010, we will pursue our competitive differentiation through innovation and intensify our technology evangelism to enterprises in key market verticals such telecommunications, financial services and the public sector.

We were very happy with the results our initial FortiGate appliance was giving us while acting as an antivirus solution that we decided to expand our use of Fortinet when we decided to switch to an MPL network provided by Verizon.
