Fortinet's New FortiPartner Program Maximizes Margin for Solution Providers

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 5, 2006- Fortinet - the pioneer and leading provider of multi-threat security solutions- today announced upgrades to its Americas FortiPartner Program, which will enable valued partners of all levels to achieve double-digit margin opportunity. The enhanced three-tier program provides platinum, gold and silver partners with access to a new deal registration element as well as easy access to a strong recurring revenue stream through automated delivery of Fortinet's FortiGuard™ family of real-time security subscriptions services.

A reflection of Fortinet's continued investment in its channel, the enhanced partner program adds the following elements to benefit solution providers:

  • Deal egistration - Ensures that prospective business opportunities are brought to a successful close without disrupting a partner's profitability structure. Unique to Fortinet's program, all partner levels will now recognize a discount advantage ranging from five to 15 percent -- thus ensuring that even silver-level partners have a buying advantage on registered deals. Fortinet's margin structure is designed around registered deals, providing guaranteed sales support and investment protection.
  • Online enewal Tracking and Alerting - This system - which provides channel partners the ability to easily track when their customers' subscriptions are up for renewal åÐ is designed to ensure those customers are continually protected while bringing visibility to the renewable revenue/annuity that is available to the partner.
  • Training Benefits - Certification requirements limit product access and ensure that partners who invest in training will have access to enterprise-class products. This will include specific training around Fortinet's chassis-based FortiGate-5000 Series tailored for carriers, MSSPs and large enterprises.

FortiPartners not only benefit from the channel program enhancements, but from Fortinet's market-leading multi-threat security systems. FortiGate systems integrate seven essential security applications and services, enabling partners to flexibly recommend, sell and deploy tailored solutions for their customers. Unique to Fortinet is its FortiGuard subscription services - antivirus, intrusion prevention, Web filtering, and anti-spam - that provide automatic updates for customer systems to protect them against new security threats. This provides a recurring revenue stream for Fortinet partners, and allows them to centrally manage all customer subscription renewals via one system and one vendor.

"Fortinet has always been committed to a channel-only sales model, making partner relationships highly strategic and critical to our growth. As such, we are continually evaluating ways to offer our partners the most return on their investment with us," said Chris Andrews, Fortinet's Americas vice president. "With the FortiPartner Program, we have created a world-class ecosystem that allows solution providers to maximize the profitability of their selling opportunities with our family of industry leading multi-threat security solutions."

The FortiPartner Program is tiered into platinum, gold and silver levels - categorized by a partner's business focus and sales commitment - and delivers multiple incentives for engaging with Fortinet on joint business opportunities:

  • Silver FortiPartners include organizations that have a working familiarity with Fortinet's low- to mid-range multi-threat security solutions and can deliver the solutions that best fit small to medium business security concerns. Benefits include deal registration, access to an array of marketing tools via the FortiPartner Extranet, participation in channel programs, access to certification training and online sales training.
  • Gold FortiPartners deliver the full spectrum of Fortinet's solution set and have both a certified FCNSA and FCNSP on staff to assist with any variety of implementation needs, from branch office solutions to core headquarter deployments. These partners receive the silver partnership benefits, as well as preferred pricing at distribution, direct access to 24-hour support, a dedicated channel account manager and access to market development funds.
  • Platinum FortiPartners have demonstrated success across all Fortinet technologies. They have full access to Fortinet's solution set and have two FCNSAs and two FCNSPs on staff to suit complex deployment requirements. Platinum partners receive all of the benefits as gold partners, plus an invitation to Fortinet's annual partner conference, qualified lead hand-off and joint tradeshow participation.
